Week Commencing: Sat 07/06/2014

A very slow start to this week after a spawny couple of days but like buses you wait forever and then they all come at once...

Wednesday brought the first bite for Matt fishing in the Tree Line and a lovely 44lb 8oz mirror known as "The Unattended" was the culprit.  Matty was baiting up along the tree line with a mix of Hybrid boilies and tigers.  Rig of choice was a hinged stiff rig with an Indian spice pop-up doing the business.

Thursday morning Matty landed the second fish of the week in the shape of a 39lb 8oz mirror again the same tactics proving key.

Thursday morning also saw bites from all across the pond.

Gordon fishing out of Alcatraz at 20 rl towards the double tree In-between Big Southerly and The Stink, caught a pretty upper double common.

Terry had a cracking 42lb common out of The Beach fishing 20rl towards The Stink.

Mike had a morning to remember fishing out of Pole Position.  A lovely 48lb 14oz mirror that nobody had seen before.  A brand new fish at nearly 50lbs!

Mike quickly followed this up with "The Lippy Common" at 44lb 10oz, a new PB mirror and common in the space of a few hours.

Thursday lunchtime and Gordon was back in action this time an angry 28lb common, with the same spot doing the business.  Baiting with the ever consistent Mainline Hybrid.

Thursday night Big Tel was into his second fish, a mint 31lb mirror.  His baiting approach of Hybrid, hemp and tigers clearly working.

Mike had a sleepless night Thursday that resulted in 2 more cracking scaly mirrors of 30lb & 27lb, again an Indian Spice pop-up on a hinged stiff rig doing the damage, fishing over a mix of our very own tigers and Five Star Baits Fish Mix boilies.

Thursday night also saw Gordon catch his third fish, a stunning 37lb mirror known as "The Grey Plated".

Friday was Mikes day again in Pole Position, starting off with "Digits" 39lb 8oz just as breakfast was being delivered to his swim.  He backed this up with a 28lb mirror during the day and then finished his dream session off with a 31lb common on Friday night.

Saturday morning and James caught a 32lb mirror from The Tree Line, a well deserved fish after not giving up and being pro-active moving around the pond in the red hot heat.  Good work lad and well deserved.  A hinged stiff rig with an Indian spice pop up was the downfall to the scaly beast.

Be lucky,

Mike & Steve
