PIP’S MOVES INTO THE 80LB BRACKET!

Well it was soon 12pm and we had the vans flowing in off 12 happy anglers ready to kick start there weeks holiday, some new faces and also some very familiar faces this week. With temperatures dropping to -1 degrees off a night time it was going to be another challenging week.

We are kicking the week off with the biggest fish from this week, that was Antony Lune with the mega looking ‘Pip’s’ at a new massive top weight 80lb smack on the nose coming from the Treeline. Ant fish a nice smooth/hard area at 22 ¼  wraps straight at the swim Stink, with 2 rods only on this spot feeding lightly with just 10-15 spombs a day containing Sticky Manilla Active crumbed with sweetcorn then finally soaking it all down with the Cloudy Manilla Glug. On the business end he was using 6” off Boom with a size 4 Krank to a Spinner swivel with 2 pieces of Korda IB Pop-Up Maize that had been soaked in Pineapple and Isotonic Goo for 4 weeks leading up to his trip. Ant ended his week with the 2 fish both coming from the spot towards Stink, his 2nd fish for the week was ‘The Brown Fish’ at 44lb, so overall it was a great week for Ant.

We have Max Whitehall in next fishing from Bob’s Beach. Max started the week out long at 29 wrapsaiming for the margin that separates Stink and Alamo, after seeing the fish showing short 2 nights on the bounce and off course Ant next door landing Pip’s also at short range Max decided to drop back to 20 wraps aiming for the same spot as his long rod. Max persevered and kept grinding away on a hard week and then Saturday morning at 5am he was away into his 1st Main Lake carp. After a slow plod around as max described the fish didn’t really do much and within a matter of minutes he had a real gem sulking in his net, Max was rewarded with a new PB with a fish known as ‘The Weld’ at a mega 62lb! well-deserved capture for Max he certainly kept the spirit high all week. Max was using 12mm Sticky Manilla Activecrumbing it into his mix with plenty of Sweetcorn and he was also using the cloudy Manilla Glug, fishing the same as most other guys just 10-15 spombs per day and then the rigs off choice was a 6” Boom leading to a Combi-Rig  with a size 4 Wide gape using 2 grains of IB SSM.

Chris Clarke stayed on for a 2nd week this week and it was his final week off the year. This week last year Chris fished in Alcatraz and had a really successful week, so at the draw Chris manged to pull ball 1 and it was back into Alcatraz he went. With the wind off his back for most off the week it made easy work getting his Korda Solidz Bags out to the spot around the Scary Tree at 33 wraps. Swapping and changing between different colour wafters he had 4 bites using Pink Dumbbell’s throughout the week. Chris’s biggest fish off the week was ‘The Windy Common’ at 48lb 14oz and then he had a 2nd 40 for the week and this one was ‘Fluey’ at 43lb 10oz. Chris didn’t really get through any bait this week just fishing bags on clear areas either side off weed beds, for what bait he did use it was just House Mixed particle with Sticky Manilla 15mm Boilies crumbed into the mix.

Ben Whitehall father off Max found himself in Big Southerly after coming out mid-way in the draw. Fishing the usual spots to the left of Alcatraz at 25.5 wraps on a nice hard spot, he began feeding the same as Max with Sticky Manilla Active and Sweetcornwith Multi-Combi rigs over the top with double SSMsoaked in Isotonic Goo, it was just the one fish to report back for this week for Ben and that was one of our newly introduced stockies that he was fortunate to name ‘Tiny T’.

Sebastian Raum kicked off the week fishing in Stink. Sebastian fished 27.5 wraps to the Christmas tree left off Bob’s Beach with all 3 rods, Korda IQ2 in 20lb performing a D-Rig  with a fruity squid wafterssoaked in White Squid Goo he manged to land a 20lb scaly stockie on a really tough week. He used a combination off Mix particle and Flaked Maize supplied by us here on site and also adding Tinned Sweetcorn into his mix.

Let’s end the week with Filip Klos. Filip was over the moon he finally got the chance to fish Co’s Point, he started of the week fishing solid bags at the old tits 30.5 wraps. The bites came right away from starting the session and Filip caught every day, he seemed to be only catching stockies so after a few days he added a lot off boilie into the mix but still unfortunately after 14 fish he still was catching the smaller ones. Filip used Mainline Cell in 15mm and 10mm supplied by us on site and also Mix particles and plenty of the Mainline Cell Stick mix, rigs for Filip was 4” off Korda Supernatural with a size 6 Widegap with a yellow Dumbbell for the Hook bait.

That’s another week over and out and once again the weather played a big part of the week, cold nights and rainy days making the fishing super difficult but the lads kept a smile on their faces all week. Solid Bags and small beds off bait was key again this week.

But for now all the best,

Joe
