Week Commencing: Sat 22/11/2025

First up this week we have Ricky who got the dreaded ball 12 this week, and chose to go in Big Girls and with this swim being empty last week, Ricky started with a clean slate. With temperatures well below zero it was a very cold start to the week, but Ricky decided to spread his rods across the bay, not fishing too close to the tree line and putting a small amount of bait over each spot going in with a mix consisting of boilie crumb, house hemp, and corn. A very slow start to the week ended on Wednesday night when Ricky managed his first fish when he had ‘Paraody’ at 44lb 8oz coming off his his spot fishing 16 wraps towards the red pipe, where the outlet is from the stock pond. Unfortunately, that was it for Ricky this week but he went away with the biggest fish of the week.

Opposite Ricky we had Jerry Purse in Stock Pond, who spent the first night just fishing a single solid bag out towards the corner, taking the first night to see if the fish would give themselves away as to where they were, which can be a great tactic on Gigantica, especially at this time of year, not rushing the first day and putting a load of bait out on a spot only to find the fish are elsewhere. With the odd show in the corner and off the spit through the first couple of days, it was again on Wednesday things changed for Jerry, where he managed ‘Cum Juggler’ at 41lb fishing 20 wraps towards the corner of the bay with a solid bag going with a match the hatch hook bait. That was it for Jerry this week but for results for others across the lake he was happy to go home with a 40.

First off the mark this week was Steve Newell over in The Stink. Steve spread his rods out for the first couple of days opting to go one long at 30 wraps towards the right of Baxter’s and and two shorter fishing 17 at the two poplar trees to the right of Tree Line. Going in lightly with a bed of boilie, house hemp and corn, it was his shorter spot that produced the first fish of the week with ‘Bison’ coming out at 24lb but that was it for Steve this week, as the fish just seemed to push out.

A very slow week this week to recent form and with the first major frost of the year lasting 4 days, the fishing was tough but still a fun week was had by all and we look forward to seeing you all again some day.

Tight Lines,
